“Sail in Greece” was established in 2001 in Athens,inspired by a family sea tradition that dates back to Ikaria in the 19th century. Both my grandparents, Yiannis and Timotheos were great sea captains transporting foods and other commodities between the Greek islands in small wooden boats. My father Captain Andreas, as a 2nd generation sea dog sailed around the world for 4 decades. Through this man I inherited my love for the sea and sailing. Thus after his retirement and with my blood boiling we decided to create this charter company to follow in the footsteps of my forefathers.
